Hurricane Harvey Donations
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, businesses and citizens across Texas have taken it upon themselves to donate money, supplies and their time to help in the disaster relief efforts. To assist to that end The Guenther House is serving as a collection point for local organizations collecting items until Friday, September 15th. Donations will be collected at the wagon on the patio of the Guenther House daily from 7AM-3PM.
Most needed supplies:
The San Antonio Food Bank is collecting nonperishable food and hygiene products for kits that are going to people sheltering in hotels and motels in our area and for delivery to Gulf Coast residents. The most-needed items include:
- Nonperishable foods
- Water
- Baby food
- Diapers
- Flashlights and batteries
- Hygiene items & toiletries
- Cleaning supplies
The City of San Antonio Animal Care Services needs:
- Blankets and towels
- Toys
- Food
- Newspaper
The Texas Diaper Bank is collecting diapers of all sizes for kits that will be delivered to the Gulf Coast and areas sheltering Houston evacuees.
Volunteers from C.H. Guenther & Son, The Guenther House and The Pioneer Flour Mills San Antonio Plant will deliver these supplies to the respective agencies.
In addition, this week our parent company C.H. Guenther & Son (CHG) donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey victims. In addition, CHG is matching dollar for dollar for all cash donations made to the American Red Cross by all employees across our entire company including the employees of The Guenther House.
